How to balance foam production and foam recycling
The British Plastics Federation (BPF) recently hosted its first special event on productivity in the plastics industry in partnership with BPF Energy. This was held at the British Motor Museum in Warwick. There were over 70 delegates and 11 exhibitors in attendance. Overall, it was a very prestigious and informative event.
The event demonstrated the importance that UK plastics manufacturers place on the productivity of plastics, however the more plastic that is produced, the greater the threat that this plastic poses when it is discarded. It is well known that the recycling of foam, which is responsible for such a hazard as white pollution, is vital. As a manufacturer company, there is a balance to be made between the production and foam recycling, so how can this be done?
1、Popularize the awareness of waste foam recycling:
Foams like EPE and EPS are very common in our daily lives. We can often see them in delivery boxes in the logistics industry. They are irreplaceable materials with the advantages of low price, good shock resistance and durability. In the course of their exploration, people have also discovered that there is no material that can completely replace them, but the foam itself is actually 100% recycled. It is worthwhile for more people to be aware of this, which will have a strong role in promoting foam recycling.
2、Use foam recycling machine to increase recycling power:
The traditional ways of disposing of foam are incineration and landfill. Both of them are very disadvantageous from any point of view. First of all, incineration will produce harmful gases, which will have a negative impact on the climate; and landfill will take up valuable land resources for hundreds of years but it is difficult to decompose in the soil again. Secondly, both methods are a waste of resources for foam. Even if the foam is disposed of, it can be recycled into end products by means of a professional foam recycling machine. To a certain extent, this kind of machine increases the recycling of foam and makes the process convenient and cost-saving.
3、Reuse of waste foam instead of production:
Waste foam is recycled by foam recycling machines and other specialised equipment to form end products. These products are also very cost-effective and can replace some new plastic products to a certain extent, which is also a kind of saving environmental protection behavior. In general, depending on consumer demand, there will eventually be a market for these reused plastic products.
In general, the use of professional recycling equipment and the dissemination of knowledge about recycling and reuse will go a long way towards balancing recycling power and productivity. In addition to this, the production of plastics is also more in line with the general trend towards a circular economy, which is very meaningful.
